 The American Hosta Society board of Directors is pleased to announce the establishment of The Alex J. Summers Memorial Fund. The endowment trust fund is established in memory of Alex J. Summers, founder of The American Hosta Society, who died in 2009.
Members and friends are encouraged to contribute to the AHS in honor of living AHS members, loved ones or societies, or as memorials to deceased members or loved ones. The funds will be set aside in perpetuity, with the income from the funds used for future projects that enhance the mission of The American Hosta Society, as well as the vision of Alex Summers.
Each year, donors will be recognized, both in The Hosta Journal and on The American Hosta Society Web site. The following recognition levels have been established:
Supporting Donor: Annual contributions of $25.00 to $99.00.
Silver Donor: Annual contributions of $100.00 to $499.00.
Gold Donor: Annual contributions of $500.00 to $999.00.
President's Honor Circle: Annual contributions of $1,000.00 or greater.
A form is available below to facilitate donations. Please include donor name and address, as well as the name and address of the honoree or his or her family, if possible, so an acknowledgment card can be sent as a notification of your thoughtfulness.
We ask the local societies to make their members aware of this new trust fund as a way to honor members and loved ones.
